Current and Ongoing Programs
Sutter Davis Hospital

Since its founding in 1990, Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation & Community Board has received gifts totaling more than $2,800,000 for Sutter Davis Hospital. The generosity of people has made health services available to the greater community, build the new hospital and birthing center, purchase advanced equipment, and provide education resources to the staff and community.

Specific programs of benefit to the community include:

Yolo Health Alliance
The Yolo Health Alliance (YHA) is a collaborative effort between Sutter Davis Hospital, County of Yolo, CommuniCare Health Centers, and Sutter West Medical Group. Established in 1993 in response to a Request for Proposal from the county, the YHA provides health care to the medically indigent population in Yolo and Solano counties. Since its inception, the YHA has accomplished many quality milestones such as: providing patients access to care 24 hours a day/seven days a week, case management including linkage to multiple community service agencies, and prompt access to specialty and tertiary care.

Yolo Perinatal Program
The Yolo Perinatal Program is a midwifery program that provides prenatal care and education to Medi-Cal eligible women. Sutter West Medical Group provides medical directorship and oversight for the program.

Medical Library/Resource Center
Dr. Thomas Vaughn was a popular local physician dedicated to preventive health and education for his patients. Upon his death in 1986, family and community members erected an educational display in his memory. That display has grown into what is now the Vaughn Resource Center. The center is located with the Leo A. Cronan Memorial Medical Library on the second floor next to Medical Records.

Volunteers staff the Resource Center/Medical Library from 10 a.m. - Noon weekdays and by appointment. The staff accesses an extensive base of resources to respond to health-related inquiries.

The non-profit information center is open to physicians, allied health care providers, corporations and the general public. Access to information is available through printed publications and online through the Internet. The printed collection includes medical reference books, medical journals and brochures. Other educational materials include videotapes, which may be borrowed for viewing at no charge.

Community Classes
Wellness classes and educational programs on specific conditions and diseases are available to the community for nominal fees.
