2011 Funding Priorities

The Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation sets annual priorities after collecting input from physicians, hospital administrators and members of the Foundation Board of Trustees. These priorities reflect the most immediate and pressing needs of the hospital. This year’s primary funding priorities focus on our Medical-Surgical-ICU Units and Emergency Department.
Vital Signs – 2011 Matching Funds Opportunity
Funding Need $182,500
In clinical care, accurate and timely diagnostic data collection allows our clinicians to coordinate and execute the best possible plan of care for our patients. Collecting and sharing this data between care givers allows clinicians to make the right decision at the right time, speeding up the recovery process and allowing our patients to heal and improve their health.
At Sutter Davis Hospital our Med-Surg, Intensive Care Unit, and Emergency Departments care for our most frail, ill, and acute patients. In these units it is often necessary to take and chart vital signs every fifteen minutes. Sometimes patients require monitoring on advanced telemetry equipment, advanced EKG monitoring equipment, and advanced vital sign diagnostic equipment. With frequent use and improvements in technology it is time to replace outdated equipment and improve the safe collection of data, allowing our clinical staff to better or more quickly treat our patients.
We also have the opportunity to improve and enhance our work flow processes in Med Surg, creating a better environment for patients to heal and clinicians to provide care. Funding for Vital Signs will allow us to create 5 self contained satellite work stations, with dedicated, advanced telemetry equipment, enabling our clinical staff to better collect and chart data and be more visible and accessible in the area of direct patient care.
Vitals Signs Campaign

Enhancing Our Ability to Provide "Best" Care
In addition to the "Vital Signs" campaign, our physicians, managers, and administrative team have identified several critical items of equipment that will help us continue to deliver top-tier care.
Anesthesia Machines
Funding Need $310,000
Sutter Davis Hospital is in need of upgraded anesthesia machines to support our Surgery Department and Family Birthing Center. Our current anesthesia machines are reaching the end of their useful lives and therefore, parts are becoming increasingly difficult to procure if the machines break down. Funds raised for these machines help us with our long range capital planning and allow our surgery department to flex and expand as needed to meet the growing surgical need of our diverse community.
Emergency Department EKG Monitors
Funding Need $206,000
Almost all of us have known someone who has been rushed to the Emergency Department with chest pain or shortness of breath. In these situations time is of the essence and the best outcomes occur when patients are monitored by EKG within ten minutes of arrival. Best in class organizations will have these patients monitored within five minutes. Knew EKG equipment will allow us to move our emergency patients from arrival to monitor as quickly as possible and ultimately enhance our ability to provide the best possible outcomes for our patients.
The help you give will make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families - both now and in the future. We'd love to hear from you.
