Our Focus
Since its inception in 1990, the Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation has focused on creating a legacy of caring in our community. Our Recent Achievements
Thomson Reuters Top 100 Hospital: Sutter Davis Hospital (SDH) enjoys a reputation for providing top quality care to our patients, and for providing an excellent place for employees to work and physicians to practice medicine. SDH's recent State and National Recognitions for performance include: Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals, California Council For Excellence Eureka Gold Award, Modern Healthcare Best Places to work and Press Ganey Physicians Best Places to Practice. Sutter Davis Hospital Foundation provides significant financial resources to support, strengthen and enhance care delivery in our key communities, by funding advanced equipment and programs.
Family Birthing Center: Sutter Davis Hospital’s Birthing Center, a collaborative practice of obstetricians and certified nurse-midwives has provided high quality, economical, patient-centered care to a diverse population for three decades. The practice has maintained a low primary cesarean birth rate (12.5%) versus a national average of (23.5%) while achieving excellent maternal and neonatal outcomes, including superior patient satisfaction scores, by providing extensive prenatal education, limiting non-medical inductions of labor, and offering "high touch, low tech" intrapartum care.
Emergency Department: In 2010, our ED earned an Excellence in Patient Care Award from the Studer Group, which recognizes departments or groups that consistently demonstrate high performance in patient care. Our ED includes Emergency Board Certified physicians as part of a team of health care professionals experienced in caring for patients with a variety of medical and surgical emergencies. We combine technology with compassion to treat nearly 2,000 patients each month, while still maintaining among the best door to doctor emergency wait times in the nation at under 40 minutes.
Surgery Center: The Sutter Davis Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center is a fully integrated surgical facility which provides immediate access to all services provided by Sutter Davis Hospital. The center’s four state-of-the-art surgical suites provide advanced equipment and specially trained staff, allowing surgeons to deliver procedures that range from simple outpatient to complex inpatient surgeries. The Sutter Davis Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Center is supported by a team of surgeons and nursing staff committed to surgical excellence and quick recoveries.
